About the Website
My childhood and teenage years were spent playing and working in my parent’s grocery store, Longo’s Market. It was located in a working class neighborhood known as the Junction in Jersey City, New Jersey. Although it was a small store, the Market was a place where you could buy almost anything - fruit, vegetables, groceries, even toys. It was also a place where people talked about their lives. I listened and learned many lessons from the people of the Junction. They worked hard and lived within their means. They saved money so they could make large purchases. They even learned to invest in the stock market. The investments were small but grew over time. The common goal of our customers was to live a good life. This premise of this website, Longo’s Financial Market, is based on the small store where I learned so much; but there is nothing for sale here. We share financial ideas and so we can learn from each other and live a good life.
